Reclaimed Stones

Wallstone and Veneer

Reclaimed stone is an excellent material to re-purpose as a wall stone or a building veneer. There are a wide range of colors and textures found when harvesting reclaimed stone suitable for use in walls and full bed veneer applications.

Veneer vs Wallstone

A common question Stone Farm is asked is “when should I consider using a full thickness veneer vs a wallstone”. Often times the answer lies with the existing conditions of your home or site as well as the preference of the contractor. Most full bed veneers are split or sawn ot 6-8” thicknesses and are intended to be built in front of a concrete or masonry block wall. Our reclaimed granite blocks and other reclaimed stone that would be used for walls is usually much thicker than 6-8” and therefore is only suitable to be used for landscape applications.

Shapes and Dimensions

Much of reclaimed granite Stone Farm harvests is generally square and rectangular in shape.  We do harvest old quarry tailings which can produce a more irregular shaped wall and old New England fieldstone walls have a classic irregular round look.
