ANTIQUE BRICK PAVERS

ANTIQUE BRICK PAVERS

From Historic Streets to Your Home

Antique brick pavers offer a combination of durability, history, and character. Originally manufactured to withstand the demands of street and sidewalk traffic, as well as harsh weather, these solid clay bricks have already proven their strength through decades of service. Their rich colors, worn surfaces, and subtle variations create outdoor spaces with an authenticity that newly manufactured pavers simply cannot replicate.

Our reclaimed brick pavers are carefully salvaged from all over the country and prepared for a new generation of landscape projects. Whether used for patios, walkways, garden paths, courtyards, or driveways, these historic paving bricks provide a warm, inviting foundation that celebrates both craftsmanship and the enduring beauty of reclaimed materials.

RECLAIMED

Brick pavers vs. Building Brick

Antique brick pavers differ from Face bricks in several ways:

• Antique brick pavers are harvested from streets and sidewalks, while building bricks come from the facing of mills, factories and other old structures.

• Antique brick pavers are very dense and durable, while building bricks are lighter and more porous.

• Antique Brick pavers were built to withstand heavy traffic and harsh climates, while building bricks used in the ground would likely fail under similar cirmcumstances

Brick Paving Options

Reclaimed from historic streets, parks, and districts throughout the Northeast, our American granite cobbles were originally chosen for their durability and resistance to wear. Their color, size, and finish reflect how they were used—handling carriage traffic, horse paths, and early roads. Today, they offer a rugged authenticity ideal for driveways, walkways, borders, and landscape design.

New Hampshire Pavers

We reclaimed these sturdy pavers from the sidewalks of a small new Hampshire town, but they come from Patton, PA.  In the early 1900’s, they were one of the most popular brick pavers in the world.  In fact, they were placed around the Eifel Tower and in the construction of the Panama Canal.

Fequently Asked Questions

FAQS

WHY CHOOSE RECLAIMED BRICK PAVERS VS. MODERN PAVERS?
  • Sustainable reuse of antique brick pavers reduces the carbon emissions associated with the production of new material, is consistent with green building initiatives, and can qualify for tax credits and LEEDS points.

  • The kiln-based brick-making process of the past produced more durable, resilient pavers which have already withstood the tests of time.

  • These same processes also allowed for the variations in tone and texture found in antique bricks – something you won’t find in mass-produced, new pavers.

CAN RECLAIMED BRICK PAVERS BE USED FOR DRIVEWAYS?

Yes. Many antique paving bricks originally carried horse-drawn vehicles and later automobile traffic on city streets. When properly installed over an appropriate base, reclaimed brick pavers can provide a durable and attractive driveway surface.

CAN YOU USE A SNOW PLOW OR SNOW THOWER ON A RECLAIMED BRICK PAVER DRIVEWAY?

Yes – you can use a plow or snow thrower on a brick paver driveway, however we recommend using a rubber guard to protect the bricks from scratching or chipping.
