Stone Farm salvages full face brick from historic mills, factories, churches and schools, century-old bricks fired long before the age of mass production. We saw each one thin, turning it into lightweight wall and floor tile that’s easy to install. Whether it’s a backsplash, accent wall or fireplace surround at home, or a commercial application in a restaurant, brewery or retail space, our reclaimed brick veneer brings an authenticity and character new brick can’t match.
While we occasionally offer limited lots of reclaimed brick veneer sourced throughout the country, our core inventory consists of two distinct, yet equally beautiful blends. Both are excellent options for a range of aesthetics – from country-rustic to exposed-industrial to contemporary.

• Our primary reclaimed brick veneer is sawn from building bricks manufactured from the late1800’s to early1900’s.
• Salvaged mainly from old mills and factories throughout New England, this blend is ideal as either an accent or feature material.
• Much of the region’s clay comes from iron-rich glacial deposits and riverbeds—resulting in a range of reds and terracotta oranges.
• Mixed in are white tones from mortar residue and blackened “soot-stained” pieces–the result of fire damage and natural weathering.

• Our Antique Grey reclaimed brick veneer comes from historic structures found across Asia.
• These bricks were made from calcium and magnesium-rich clay, with a lower iron content as compared to New England clay.
• A firing technique which deprived the bricks of oxygen kept their colors in the range of pale blue-greys to charcoals.
• Their soft, cool colors became symbolic of modesty, order and harmony–the values of Confucian architecture.

From historic building to finished project in one minute! This video explains the entire process.
Applying a white wash to reclaimed brick veneer mutes it’s tone while still allowing it’s character to shine through. A simple mixture of masonry lime and water is all you need. The more lime you add, the more opaque your wash will be.
• After laying out your tiles, choose a few on which you don’t mind experimenting.
• Start with a 50/50 lime-water mixture and apply to a brick or two.
• Allow the brick(s) to dry and adjust your mixture accordingly.
• Repeat until you find the white wash you prefer.
• Adding sand for texture is an option, but is not necessary.
• While we offer reclaimed floor tile in the New England Blend (cut from the top of the brick) you can also use our wall tiles in your floor design.
• Our wall tiles have the same length and thickness as the floor tiles, but they are 1″-1.25″ narrower in width.
• Some customers prefer the narrower width for specific patterns such as herringbone, or for smaller spaces.
• Since the brick tops were exposed directly to mortar, they tend to show more white and grey tones. If you desire a more consistent red, this could be another reason to choose wall tiles for a flooring project.
• PLEASE NOTE–this applies ONLY to our New England Mill Blend. Our Antique Grey brick wall tiles are not suitable for floor applications.
