RECLAIMED FACE BRICK

With Stone Farm's reclaimed face brick, you'll bring history and character to your next project.   Sourced from renowned buildings, each authentic, salvaged brick tells a story, offering charm and durability that modern bricks just can't replicate.  Whether you're restoring a classic structure or adding vintage appeal to a new design, vintage brick provides an eco-friendly, aesthetically rich solution.

REPAIRING CLASSIC BRICKWORK WITH RECLAIMED FACE BRICK

  • When restoring or repairing older brick features, finding a perfect match for existing material can be challenging.  Reclaimed face brick offers an ideal solution, ensuring consistency in style, color, and texture.
  • Whether your fixing a vintage facade, patching a weathered chimney, or renovating a heritage home, using vintage brick allows you to maintain the original character and integrity of the structure.
  • New bricks might stand out and disrupt the aged appearance, while reclaimed bricks blend seamlessly into historic masonry, making them the preferred choice for these projects.

*We don't recommend thin veneer for most exterior projects.  The full, vintage brick is more durable, and will stand up best to the elements.

THE HISTORIC VALUE OF RECLAIMED FACE BRICK

Reclaimed bricks are more than just building materials--they are pieces of history.  Salvaged from century-old buildings, these bricks have seen generations pass by, bearing the craftsmanship of a bygone era.  Some examples of the antique brick we've reclaimed:

  • famous city row houses
  • abandoned mills, once the heartbeat of New England towns, and world leaders in textile production
  • decommissioned military plants which built many of the planes and helicopters that helped the USA win WWII and the Korean War.

Each brick develops a unique patina and character that tells its story.  Using reclaimed face brick allows you to incorporate a tangible piece of history into your project, preserving architectural heritage while enhancing your space with authenticity and tradition.

RECLAIMING HISTORY: THE DRAPER MILL

An old image of the Draper Mill, a textile mill whose brick was reclaimed upon it's demolition.

For more than 160 years, the fates of the Draper Mill and its hometown of Hopedale, Massachusetts were intertwined. It’s a familiar, American story–one that often ends with a demolition and fading memories of celebrated past.

In 2021, Stone Farm was on hand at the Draper Mill’s demolition, hoping to preserve that past by salvaging as much of its vintage brick as possible. Today, we’re thrilled both the Draper and Hopedale stories live on in modern design as part of our classic NE Mill Blend. They’re stories worth remembering.
