Thin Brick Veneer Focus: The Perfect Marriage of Brick and Beer

There is a strong history between brick and beer. According to the book “The Material Culture of Breweries,” the first brick brewery was built in 1893 in Grangeville, Idaho, beginning a rich tradition of pairing a product and aesthetic which evoke similar feelings. It is no surprise that some of the most famous breweries feature brick, as it provides an industrial and rustic feel synonymous with beer.

We regularly receive calls from breweries for our thin brick veneer. Some projects include: Frog Alley Brewing in Schenectady, New York, Finney’s Crafthouse with locations throughout California, and Margaritaville in Florida. All use various Stone Farm thin brick blends–sawn down from antique bricks salvaged from old factories and mills of New England, the row houses of Baltimore’s streets, and more.

Frog Alley Brewing

Featuring our Baltimore blend thin brick veneer for accent walls and pillars in both their taproom and event spaces, Frog Alley Brewing leaned into into this motif. The space’s high ceilings and exposed ductwork add to the desired ambience, and their delicious craft beers complete the experience.

Finney’s Crafthouse
Located throughout California, Finney’s Crafthouse is a family owned chain of restaurant/bars. They came to Stone Farm hoping to utilize vintage brick for an authentic and historic vibe. Incorporating elements such as exposed wooden beam ceilings, antique barstools and lampposts with reclaimed veneer helped realize their vision.

Margaritaville
A few years ago, Margaritaville in Hollywood, Florida also tapped Stone Farm for our thin brick veneer. The commercial space features a unique application of their famed parrot and while otherwise showcasing thin brick walls prominently.

Brick walls exude an authenticity that pairs perfectly with the desired ambience sought after by owners of breweries, taprooms and bars across America. We look forward to sharing more examples of this marriage of brick and beer in the coming years!
